Our research focuses on understanding the neurophysiological manifestations of neurodegenerative diseases and the mechanisms that drive neural dysfunction. We investigate how neuronal firing patterns and synaptic function are altered during disease progression, and how these changes are linked to the accumulation of pathological proteins. A major area of interest is the role of excitatory–inhibitory imbalance in disrupting neural network activity and contributing to cognitive and behavioral impairment. To address these questions, we employ a multimodal approach that integrates magnetoencephalography (MEG), electroencephalography (EEG), molecular imaging, and structural MRI. By combining advanced neuroimaging techniques with detailed clinical, cognitive, and behavioral assessments, we aim to elucidate how aberrant neural activity emerges, evolves, and relates to disease symptoms, ultimately providing insights into the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative disorders and identifying potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
